Creative in the kitchen

In my house you will never get the same meal twice, they are all original one offs

I do like to experiment and try different foods, thankfully I am not a perfectionist and try to have fun with it.

So my favourite 'go to' healthy recipe for a long while now is a 'bake' it can be a myriad of ingredients but it is kind of like a savoury cake. So think lentils or beans of any sort, vegetables preferably cooked or if not grated, grated mushrooms work beautifully in this, eggs if you eat them, breadcrumbs- I freeze mine in jars , fat - so the oil of your choosing, mix it all up, add lemon juice, herbs and tomato puree or whatever is in your cupboard and then put it in a silicone or oven dish of your choice, make it look appealing with some poppy seeds or cheese & tomato slices whatever you like and bake for about 40 mins on 180. It is a brilliant packed lunch instead of sandwiches if you make it a firm consistency, or just on a plate warm with baked beans or salad. The thing I love about this, is that you can get loads of healthy stuff in and also use up everything that needs consuming in one go! Happy creative experimenting! Let me know how you get on!

This was some very simple sushi I made while on holiday
Gingerbread is a tradition in our house at Christmas

So I love to make a gingerbread house every year and the gingerbread men and snowflakes are great gifts, by the way I made the green table mats and runner you can see in the above picture, it was material I bought from the knit and stitch show to become a dress that never happened. A dress wouldn't been seen or get as used as much as these do and I really liked the material so it is where it is meant to be.
